For making Dahi pakodi chaat usually split and skinless yellow moong dal is used to make the pakodi or fritters. In this recipe I substituted moong dal with more wholesome and rustic whole masoor dal with skin. Whole massor dal gives this dahi pakodi a hearty taste and is packed with lot more nutrition and fiber. The most liked street food ofNorthern India, Dahi Vada/Dahi Bhalla or Dahi Pakori or Dahi Gujiya, is almost prepared on every festival or special occasions.
Steps to make Moong dahi pakori:
- Soak moong daal for 4-5 hours.then grind it without water.
- Whisk it till it gets soften, white colour
- Now heat the oil in a wok and make round shaped pakori.Fry these pakoris till become light golden colour.
- In a bowl take Lukewarm water and,add some salt to it
- Now add fried moong pakori to it.when they get soften then take out them and squeeze the water lightly.
- Whisk the curd and place the pakoris in a serving dish….add the whisk curd on it Sprinkle roasted jeera, powder red chilli salt and garnish with coriander chutney. Top it with sweet tamarind chutney.
