  1. Make ready 200 g sour yoghurt
  2. Make ready 3 tbsp gram flour
  3. Take 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  4. Take 1 tsp red chilli powder
  5. Prepare 1 tsp turmeric powder
  6. Prepare to taste Salt
  7. Take 1 pinch asafoetida
  8. Prepare 1 tsp cumin seeds
  9. Take 1 tsp whole Coriander seeds crushed
  10. Get 2-3 whole dried red chillies
  11. Make ready 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
  12. Get 1 onion sliced
  13. Take Handful coriander leaves
  14. Get 2 glasses water
  15. Prepare 2 tbsp oil
  16. Prepare Pakodas
  17. Get 1 onion finely chopped
  18. Make ready 1 cup gram flour
  19. Prepare 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  20. Get 1 tsp red chilli powder
  21. Take 1 green chilli finely chopped
  22. Take Handful coriander leaves
  23. Prepare to taste Salt
  24. Get 1 pinch baking soda
  25. Get 1/2 cup water
  26. Take as required Oil to fry pakodas

Serve the Kadhi Pakora most often along with hot Steamed Rice or Tawa. For making kadhi pakora, I have used homemade yogurt. But Punjabi kadhi has two different elements - kadhi and pakora. Thus it is little time consuming but not hard to make.

Instructions to make Punjabi Kadhi Pakoda:
  1. Making pakodas : In a bowl, take chopped onion, green chilli, red chilli powder, turmeric powder,salt, coriander leaves. Mix everything
  2. Add gram flour, give it a mix and add water, make batter and lastly add baking soda. Give a final mix. (Keep batter consistency thick)
  3. Heat oil in a pan, take spoon full of batter made in above step and deep fry on a medium flame. Remove it on a paper napkin once they are golden in colour.(can do couple of spoons in one go).
  4. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
  5. Kadhi : In a bowl take yoghurt, add gram flour, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, whisk and add water. Give a mix and keep it aside.
  6. In a new pan add oil, once it is hot, add cummin seeds, asafoetida, coriander seeds, and whole dried red chillies and fenugreek seeds. Stir on the low flame for 1 min.
  7. Add sliced onion and cook for another 4-5 mins.
  8. Once the onion is transulant add the yoghurt mix made in step 5. Give a good stir. Add salt as per taste.
  9. Let the above kadhi cook for 20-30 mins. Keep stirring in between so that it should not stick to the bottom.
  10. Lastly add coriander leaves and the pakodas made in step 3 & 4. (Add pakodas only when you are ready to eat).
  11. Serve hot with rice.
