The ingredients needed to make Fried Yam:

  2. Prepare to taste Salt
  3. Take Thyme (1tbp)

For the perfect fried yam, do not use the head of the yam because it is too fibrous and sometimes bitter. Do not use the tail either because it does not contain enough starch and it's kind of tasteless. Reserve those ends for the Beans Porridge and Yam recipe. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.

Steps to make Fried Yam:
  1. Dice yam into desired sizes but not chunky. Rinse and season with the stock seasoning, salt, thyme and a little water as shown in the pix.
  2. Deep fry the yam, put a little of the water you seasoned the yam with and cover the frying pan so the water can absorb in the yam. After it has been absorbed, the yam starts to fry properly. Fry till golden brown
  3. Serve with any sauce of your choice.
